Sound design company

Our sound design company designs the effects and the final mix that make a video or a space feel finished. We also compose music, so the sound design and the score work together from the start.

Sound design company: sound for an exhibition, an event stage, a speaker in a store, and the final mix

Some of what we design

Plan the sound design together with the music, so the effects and the score don't compete for the same space.

Effects

The sounds of what happens on screen, from a door to the whoosh under a logo. For The New York Times we worked recordings of their own typewriters into the rhythm of the track.

Atmospheres

The background sound of a place, like a street or a room, so a scene feels real before anyone speaks.

Mixes for a room

Sound from every direction for exhibitions and installations. For Fabrique des Lumières and the Mauritshuis we made a 360-degree mix for a projection all around the visitors.

Events and stores

Sound for openings, event videos, and brand moments, and the music and messages in your stores.

Something new

If your project doesn’t fit any of these, send us the brief anyway. We’ll tell you how we’d approach the sound.

How we design the sound

Step 1

Brief

Send the edit or a plan of the space, and tell us where it will play.

Step 2

Sound plan

We go through the video or the space and list every sound it needs, and agree with you where the music leads and where the sound design does.

Step 3

Design

We record and design the sounds. Often they come from the same synthesizers as the music, as on the fashion film for the clothing brand Banlieue.

Step 4

Mix and delivery

We make the final mix of music, voice, and sound for every place it plays, from TV to a room with speakers all around.

Questions about sound design

How does sound design work?

We start from your edit or a plan of the space and design the background sound of each place and the sounds of what happens in it. You hear them on your picture and give notes, and we finish with one mix of the sound, the music, and the voice. For a starting price, see sound design cost.

Can you give me an example of sound design?

The New York Times video at the top is one: recordings of the paper's own typewriters became part of the rhythm of the music. Our work has more, from the synthesizer effects in the Banlieue film to the 360-degree mix for Fabrique des Lumières and the Mauritshuis.

How do you create sound for commercials?

We list every sound the edit needs, then design them together with the music and make the final mix with the voice-over. Send us the edit.

What are the top sound design companies?

The ones whose work you can hear and who make the sound and the music together, so the two fit from the start. Agencies such as Studio Dumbar and AddiktSchbang bring us in for that. Listen to our work, then send us the edit or a plan of the space.

How do music and sound shape a better customer experience?

People hear a store or an event before they look around. The right music and sounds set the mood and make your brand recognizable. We make the sound and music for stores, events, and brand spaces, from the same sonic identity as your ads.

Where can I hire sound designers for film?

Our team designs the effects and atmospheres for brand films, commercials, and documentaries, and our composers write the music. More of our sound for films and commercials is in our work. Send us the edit and the deadline.
