Automotive sound design
Automotive sound design is the sound of the car itself: the driving sound of an electric car, the start-up, and the alerts in the dashboard. We design these sounds for car brands and EV makers, and their engineers build them into the car.

A few sounds a car makes
The driving sound of an electric car
Without an engine, the maker decides what an electric car sounds like on the road. Porsche gave the Taycan an Electric Sport Sound in 2019.
The start-up
Getting in and starting the car is a moment the driver hears every day. BMW gave its electric models their own start and stop sound in 2020.
Alerts and controls
Indicators, seat belts, and parking sensors all speak to the driver, and they can sound like one brand.
Something else in the car
Some brands also want a welcome sound or sounds for the app. Request a proposal with your model.
Other work from our studio
Work for and contributions to projects involving these brands.
A few ways the car's sound connects to the brand
The same notes in the car and in the ads
The start-up sound can use the notes of the brand's sonic logo, heard again at the end of every commercial.
The app and the key
The phone app that unlocks the car can use sounds from the same set.
Launches and campaigns
The music for launch videos, car shows, and campaigns can come from the team that designs the car's sounds. Ask us about anything else for the brand.
Questions about automotive sound
Who makes the best automotive sound design?
Studios with experience in sound for launches and new technology. For the Dutch launch of Xpeng's flying car we made the music, the sound design, and a mix with sound from every direction for a virtual flight over Shanghai, which you can hear above. Request a proposal with your model.
