- What we made
- Sonic identity, built around a sonic logo
- Where it ran
- Before the live concerts and online
- With
- Lava, motion design
The brief
Cinema in Concert brings film music and live concerts together. They asked for a new sonic identity, the set of sounds a brand uses everywhere, built around a sonic logo, a short sound people recognize right away. It had to feel like the start of a big film. They pointed to the intros of the big film studios as a reference for that feeling. It plays before the live concerts as an introduction, and online.
What we did
We made the sonic identity with Lava, the motion design studio that made the visuals, so the sound and the animation were built to fit together. We wrote two directions: one around piano and soft synthesizer chords, and one for orchestra and heavy percussion. What you hear is the orchestral one. The hard part was getting the feeling of a full film intro into a short piece of music.
Listen for
Listen for the build: the orchestra and the heavy percussion grow bigger until the climax, just after half a minute in.
