Sonic branding for public transport
Sonic branding for public transport gives a network a chime before every announcement, a sound for the app and the ticket machines, and the same notes in its campaigns.
- For
- Transport operators, cities, and regions
- Heard at
- Stations, vehicles, the app, and more
- Includes
- Chimes and announcement voices
When might passengers hear you?
Before every announcement
A few notes before each announcement make passengers look up, even with headphones half in. Since 2005, every SNCF station announcement in France has started with the same four notes.
Your network has several operators
When every operator has its own sound, passengers don't hear one network. Île-de-France Mobilités, the transport authority of the Paris region, started rolling out one six-note jingle for the whole network in 2026, the app included.
The voice of the announcements
A clear voice is part of the sound. We record announcement voices and mix them to come through on a busy platform.
The app and the ticket machine
A tap on a card or a ticket in the app can confirm with a short sound. See UI sound design.
Campaigns and openings
The opening of a new line or station can get its own music, just like the campaign around it (advertising music). Request a proposal for the next opening, or for any other plan you have.
