Sonic branding for radio stations
Sonic branding for radio stations is what listeners hear between the songs: the station ID, the jingles, and the music under the host. When all of it shares one melody, listeners know your station from the first note. We write that melody and everything built on it.

What your station might need
Your station is due for a new sound
A rebrand or a new show is the moment to put every jingle, ID, and promo on one melody. The Bol sonic logo at the top is an example: for a TV campaign we rearranged it with a live band and kept the melody. Your IDs can do the same with each season.
Your hosts talk over the music all day
Beds have to run as long as the talking and stop cleanly at the end of any bar. That's the kind of music we wrote for the libraries we helped build for Sony and for Talpa, the Dutch TV and radio group.
Your station is on TV as well
Your TV idents can use the melody of your jingles. Cinema in Concert plays film scores live with an orchestra under the film, and the orchestral intro we wrote for them opens every concert, much like an ident.
Every cut has to land on time
IDs, jingles, and sweepers each have to fit their slot in the hour. We've edited radio jingles and TV audio to the second, and made the complete audio of a Vodafone Germany campaign on German TV.
Where to begin with a new sound
Start with the ID listeners hear most, at the top of the hour, and build the jingles and beds from its melody. Send us an hour of your station and we'll tell you what we'd keep and what we'd write new.
Off air
Music for a TV show or a station podcast is part of our services as well.

How it works
Step 1
Send us your brief
Your format, an hour of your station or your current jingles, and any rebrand plans. Someone from our team gets back to you with a proposal.
Step 2
A few melodies
You hear short demos of a melody for your station in different styles and choose one.
Step 3
The IDs, jingles, and beds
We make them on that melody, in all the lengths your format clock needs.
Step 4
Voiced and ready to play
We record the voice-over, mix everything next to the songs in your playlist, and deliver final files in every format you need.
Questions about station sound
What is the best radio imaging company?
One that writes the music itself and can show you a melody that holds up in different styles. Our composers write the music, and we've edited radio jingles and TV audio. Listen to the Bol sonic logo at the top, rearranged for a new campaign with the melody intact, then send us your current imaging.
How do you make jingles for a radio station?
We start from your format and a short melody. You hear a few directions, choose one, and we make the ID, the jingles, and the short versions from it. Send us your format clock.
What makes a good radio jingle?
A melody people remember, the station name sung or spoken clearly, and a mix that holds up next to the songs around it. The UK charity RNIB, for example, has radio jingles built around its sonic logo for its own station. Ask us for a proposal.
What is the best intro music for radio broadcasting?
A short one that gets to the host fast, built on the same melody as your jingles. We can make a full version for the start of the show and a short one for coming back after the news. Tell us which show needs an intro.
Can you record the voice-over for our radio imaging?
Yes. We record voice-overs in our own studio or in a rented studio, and some clients fly us in to record on location. Send us the script and the voices you have in mind.
