Sonic branding for fashion brands

Sonic branding for fashion brands is your label's own music, for the campaign, the show, the brand film, and the store. Our composers work from the collection and the footage, alongside your agency, your director, or your in-house team.

Banlieue is a clothing brand.

A few ways labels use music

The collection has a style of its own

Look at where the collection comes from. Dept Apparel, the clothing line of the digital marketing agency DEPT, leans on British streetwear. So its brand film got jungle and grime, two British club sounds with choppy drums and heavy bass.

Your brand film lives on mood

For Banlieue, the film at the top, the brief asked for a horror atmosphere: dark, industrial electronics and a slow build to heavy drum and bass. See the Banlieue case.

You're shooting a campaign film

A campaign film usually has no dialogue, so the music carries it. For a Karl Lagerfeld campaign we wrote an outspoken electronic track with a catwalk pulse and some euphoria in it.

Your ad runs between other ads

In a short commercial the music has to work from the first frame. The track below starts as if you walk straight into a fashion show. We made it for the lingerie brand Hunkemöller, and it ran on TV and online.

A director or agency runs the shoot

We fit into their schedule and their edit. The director of the Banlieue film at the top asked us again when he made a campaign for Karl Lagerfeld, and DEPT brought us in for its own clothing line.

Something we haven't listed

A sonic logo that runs for several seasons or music for a pop-up store is just as much our work. You'll find the rest under our services.

How it works

Step 1

Send us your brief

The collection, the moodboard, the edit if there is one, and who's shooting it. Someone from our team gets back to you with a proposal.

Step 2

A few directions

Short demos in different styles, close to your images. Your director or agency can listen along, in our studio or remotely.

Step 3

Cut to the film

We write and produce the track in the direction you chose and fit it to the final edit, with short versions for social.

Step 4

Mixed for every screen

Final files in every format you need, mixed for TV, online, and phones.

Questions about fashion music

What kind of music is used for fashion shows?

Mostly electronic music with a steady beat, because it keeps every model at the same pace. A track composed for the show can follow the running order and build to the finale. We can write it for your next show.

Can you give me some examples of fashion branding?

In sound, the Indian fashion platform Myntra is a clear one. In 2017 it introduced a musical logo of about one and a half seconds, first played at the IIFA awards in New York. Our own fashion work includes Karl Lagerfeld, Hunkemöller, and Banlieue. Request a proposal with your next campaign.

What are some good songs to use for a business launch?

For a collection launch, a track nobody has heard at someone else's event. We can write it to the moment the first look walks out or the doors open, and give you a short version for the posts afterwards. Tell us what you're launching and when.

What is the best sonic branding for fashion brands?

Music made for the label, that comes back in the shows, the campaigns, and the stores. Hear the catwalk pulse in the Karl Lagerfeld case, then send us the moodboard for your next campaign.
